The Germano (Mallard) moped was introduced in 1964 and produced for almost 5 years. This was the first time in company’s history that utilized outside suppliers for a large number of components, including the DKWZundapp sourced engine. This allowed MV to market the new bike as quikly and econimically as possibly. The Sport model was one of the versions built on this platform and had a tubular steel duplex cradle frame and the proportions of a real bike. Other iterations included the Turismo, Gran Turismo, and America. The single cilinder 2-stroke engine generated 1,5 HP enough to coax the 50 kg bike to 40 km/h. Prices were modest too, with a range of 115.000 to 120.000 Lire depending on the version.
